Arathi Sriprakash talks about the concept of reparations and how she applies this to her work. She locates this focus in what she describes as the ‘reparative turn’ in the social sciences and humanities, inspired by activist movements and struggles for justice. She guides us, through a reparative lens, to think about the necessity of engaging with the interconnections between the past, present and future in the formation of injustice and its repair. She outlines how reparative frameworks take a structural approach to justice, for example in education. How can we work with this concept – the new theoretical and methodological insights it offers to imagine new futures in education?
