The Australian Chapter of REE has held hybrid reading groups, with some participants meeting in person in Naarm (Melbourne) and others joining online from across Australia. Reading group topics have included abolition, Palestine and justice, racial capitalism, degrowth, and democracy and empire.

The Aotearoa/New Zealand REE group, based out of the University of Auckland has been a fully in person group, comprised of academics, postgraduate students, educators, and activists. Since its formation in 2023, topics have included Palestine, global justice, and settler colonialism; racial capitalism; and bordering and border abolition.
